Shipping & Delivery

Free Shipping is customary for orders of Alvas manufactured products and other select items to anywhere in the Contiguous United States of America, including the District of Columbia.

Alvas Used, Factory Second and Discontinued products are available for local pick up, or you may choose to have the items shipped for an additional charge. Local pick up is free (see Will Calls for more information), sales tax will apply. Orders shipping anywhere outside the Contiguous USA will have taxes and duties calculated at checkout.

Most orders ship from our San Pedro, CA, USA warehouse. Our team works hard to ensure that your order is accurate and on time. If your order is ready to ship prior to the scheduled ship date, we will do our best to ship it early.

Shipping Schedule

Standard Shipping Schedule:

Orders paid in full by Monday 11:00 am (PST) will ship by Wednesday.
Orders paid in full by Wednesday 11:00 am (PST) will ship by Friday.

Need it faster? Call us and we’ll do our best to help! There is a chance we can rush your shipment and/or expedite the delivery service.

*Applying a Rush charge to an order will break the normal shipping cycle for that order. Our staff will present to you the earliest time available to ship, for your approval. If agreed upon, the rush charge will be applied, and the order will be shipped on the agreed upon date.

**Additional charges will apply for expedited delivery service.

Delivery

Alvas ships through multiple carriers. Local orders will be delivered by our Alvas team.

If your order is shipping freight, the freight company will contact the phone number you provided to schedule a delivery appointment with you, before arriving to the shipping address. Missing the call, or failing to return the call to the shipping company, could result in a delay of your shipment. If you miss the first call, the freight company will make a few attempts to reach you before deciding to return the shipment to us. Please note the customer is still responsible for the cost for the shipment (or lack of).

Deliveries should be inspected asap. If there are any damages or shortages, Do Not Refuse Delivery. Instead, sign “Damaged” or “Short”, and then contact Alvas immediately. For more information, view the FAQ.

Walk-Ins

Call first. At times, our warehouse staff may be off-site handling installations or deliveries. Due to this, customers who pay for their order as they walk in to our retail store may have to wait approximately 10 minutes to 2 hours before their merchandise is ready to be picked up.

Orders for Maple Barres, Oak Barres, Custom Poplar Barres and Custom Matlay/Marlay will be available for pick up according to our shipping schedule.

Will Calls

Orders paid in full by Monday 11:00 am (PST) will be available for pick up by Wednesday.
Orders paid in full by Wednesday 11:00 am (PST) will be available for pick up by Friday.
Hours for Will Call: Mon – Fri 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Other times may be scheduled with prior approval.
Will Call orders outside our standard shipping schedule are subject to a Rush fee.
Rush orders do not apply to Maple Barres, Oak Barres or Custom Poplar Barres.
Alvas will not be responsible for loading and/or securing will call orders upon pick up.
Customers will be responsible for securing orders and bringing appropriate help and/or supplies.

International Shipping by Zonos

We have partnered with Zonos to service our international customers.

Your country flag will automatically display in the lower left corner of your screen. If you are shipping to a different country, simply click on the flag and select the appropriate country. You can click on the flag throughout your shopping experience to see estimated duties and taxes based on the contents of your cart. Once you select ‘proceed to checkout’, you will be presented with the Zonos International Checkout page where you will be provided with international shipping costs as well as duties and taxes for your shipment.

Upon completion of your order, Zonos will charge your credit card for the entire purchase. We will process the order and have the good(s) transported to your international address.

All of the customer data we collect is protected against unauthorized access and is never sold, traded or rented to other organizations except for commercial purposes to provide services, information or products you have requested, when we have your permission, or when it is necessary to share information to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected threatening or fraudulent activities, and violations of terms of service, or as otherwise required by law.

Security
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via alvasbfm.com, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Your Customer Data
After purchasing products through our website, your data is securely stored for the following lengths of time:

  • Inactive accounts: 8 years
  • Failed orders: 1 month
  • Cancelled orders: 1 month
  • Completed orders: 2 years

Returns & Replacements

Customer satisfaction is our primary goal. If you would like to return a product, please contact us to start the process.

Return Policy

Unused merchandise may be returned within 30 days of purchase for credit, subject to a 25% restock/handling charge.

Merchandise must not have any alterations or damages to the product.

Upon approval, Alvas will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA) and the Return Form must be filled out. Return shipping costs, including appropriate packaging, are the responsibility of the customer.

Select items are non-returnable, including but not limited to Custom Barres.

The customer is responsible for all of the receiving and returning shipping costs. If you are returning a product to Alvas, products must be protected and packaged correctly, and the Return Form must be included in the return shipment. Alvas is not responsible for any damages incurred during the return shipment to Alvas. Any damages incurred during shipment may forfeit or delay a refund or replacement.

Approved returns will be inspected for shipping damage and manufacture defects. If a product is determined to have a manufacture defect, but free of shipping damage, you may receive a replacement, refund, or credit on your account. Please specify your preference and include documentation in your return.

Replacements

Replacements will be sent free of charge to the same address as the original shipment. Alvas reserves the right to make exceptions.

Refund Policy

Approved refunds are issued by check. The check will be payable and mailed to the billing party/address provided on the original invoice. Alvas does provide refunds by credit card, wire transfer, or other forms of payment.

Dealers may elect to receive a credit on their account instead of a refund check.

Ordering

We invite our customers to purchase directly from Alvas via this website, or through one of our Authorized Dealers.

Please note: Most products cannot ship to Post Office Boxes. If there is an issue with your order, an Alvas representative will contact you.

Ordering through Alvas BFM’s Website

Most products can be purchased on our website. Alvas’ custom products as well as products not manufactured by Alvas will need to be ordered by phone, since they require customized attention.

Ordering through Alvas BFM by Phone

Call or contact us for a quote (estimate).

After speaking with you, an estimate will be emailed to you for you to review. (See Pricing). Please review the estimate in its entirety, then call us to provide payment.

Ordering through an Authorized Dealer

Most of our dealers drop-ship Alvas products from our warehouses directly to their customer. Some dealers may offer bulk pricing or discounts in shipping.

Cancellation Policy

All orders received will be processed immediately. If an order is cancelled within 12 hours of receipt the restock fee will be waived, otherwise all cancelled orders will be subject to a 25% cancellation fee. 

Comments/Reviews Policy

Only registered customers are permitted to comment/review. All we ask is that you be kind. We welcome differing opinions, but any comments containing personal attacks, sarcasm, etc. will be removed immediately. Keyboard warriors aren’t welcome :) All comments are moderated and may take time to be approved. Anything not pertaining specifically to the content of a post/product will be removed.

Secured funds must be received in full before orders are processed.

Credit Card – Per Order

  • Applies to orders placed online or by phone.
  • Orders paid by credit card will require the customer to provide Alvas with their credit card information, for each order.
  • Credit card numbers are not kept on file.
  • Accepted Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard and Discover.

Credit Card – On File (Dealers Only)

  • Applies to orders placed by Dealers, by sending approved purchase orders via email.
  • Alvas offers the provision for dealers to be able to keep a credit card on file.
  • The credit card is only used for approved purchase orders.
  • If your company is interested in this provision, contact us and request a Credit Card Authorization form.

Check in Advance

  • Applies to orders placed by phone.
  • Orders paid by check in advance are subject to a 10-business day hold before the order is processed.
  • All checks must be made payable to Alvas LLC.
  • Returned checks due to insufficient funds or for any other reason are subject to a $25.00 fee.

Wire Transfer

  • Applies to orders placed by phone.
  • Bank Wire Transfers must be sent to Alvas LLC in US Dollars.
  • Subject to a $20.00 fee, which will be added to the current invoice. The invoice must be paid in full to process the order.

Open Account (Requires Approved Purchase Order)

  • Applies to orders placed by approved customers, by sending approved purchase orders via email.
  • “Approved Customers” are government-run entities (cities, public school districts, etc) and a select few dealers, only.
  • Purchase Orders are subject to approval by Alvas and have Net 30 payment terms, with payment due in full within 30 days from the date of the invoice.
  • Past due invoices are subject to a 1.5% late fee per month and the account will be put on hold until it is brought current.
  • All checks must be made payable to Alvas LLC.
  • Returned checks due to insufficient funds or for any other reason are subject to a $25.00 fee.

Pricing

All prices listed on our website and in our catalog are subject to change without notice. Please refer to our website as it will always post the most current pricing.

Pricing on estimates generated from our office are valid for 60 days from the date of the estimate. All other orders will be priced as it is posted online.

Exceptions:

Sales Tax rates may change without notice. All estimates and orders will be charged the current sales tax rate.

Pricing and specifications for products not manufactured by Alvas are provided by their own manufacturer and are subject to change without notice.

Alvas is happy to offer volume discounts to our retail customers (whether your order is placed online or by phone) and will be reflected in your shopping cart immediately. Volume discount breakdown:

  • 5% off merchandise total: $200-$400
  • 10% off merchandise total: $401-$800
  • 15% off merchandise total: $801-$2,000
  • 20% off merchandise total: $2,001-$4,000
  • 25% off merchandise total: $4,001 or more

Note: Volume discounts apply to regular priced items only. Sale and Clearance items are excluded.
