Alvas is thrilled to welcome the internationally renowned ballet instructor, Victoria Vargas, who will be joining us as the new instructor at the Rosalie & Alva School of Ballet and Allied Arts.
A distinguished ballet instructor, choreographer, and movement specialist with over 40 years of experience in the professional dance industry. She is internationally recognized for her expertise in ballet kinesiology and is the creator of the 5th Position Method, a pioneering Floor Barre technique embraced by professional dancers and emerging artists worldwide.
Victoria’s contributions to the dance world have been recognized with multiple prestigious awards. She was honored with the ballet master of China’s annual “Famous Teacher Award.” The following year, she received the “Outstanding Teacher Award” from the Hong Kong ballet group, and in 2021, she was awarded the “Distinctive Teacher Award” by the same organization. That year, she was also nominated for 4 distinguished awards in Taiwan winning the “Group Exercise Leader of the Year.” “The 5th Position Method” earned a national award for rehab and injury prevention. She also won “Specialized Gym/Studio of the Year,” “Trailblazer of the Year,” and “Inspiring Community Campaign of the Year.” The Vanguard Category, given by “Fitness Best Asia,” is an honorary award won by Ms. Vargas that recognizes individuals who have impacted the community by inspiring creative change.
